Charlottesville Veterinary Hospital is a member of the The Cat Friendly Practice® Program created by American Association of Feline Practitioners. Through their 10 step process, our staff, doctors and hospital environment have undergone changes that make vet visits less stressful for our feline patients.
Upon arrival in our hospital, feline visitors are offered a pad that has been sprayed with a feline calming hormone. Feedback from clients have revealed that kitty's are much calmer during their visit and also once they get back home.
Our waiting room, exam rooms and hospitalization areas also utilize calming hormones to ease anxiety while cats are here. Special training in handling techniques have helped our staff and doctors ease a potentially stressful situation for cats, so they are more relaxed while here.
